Visitor Appreciation Day at Pendarvis
Sunday, June 02, 2013, 10 am–5 pm
Visit Pendarvis on this Sunday and enjoy deeply discounted admission rates. It's our way of saying thank you to returning visitors and to give new visitors an inexpensive way to experience the fun and excitement of Wisconsin history. This special offer coincides with free admission at Wisconsin State Parks, including nearby Governor Dodge State Park and Yellowstone Lake State Park.
$2 per person on June 2, 2013, only
Nestled on a rocky, wooded hillside, Pendarvis comprises six historic stone and stone-and-log cottages built by immigrant Cornish miners in the 1830s and '40s during the Wisconsin Territory's lead-mining boom. Nearby Merry Christmas Mine Hill still bears the signs of early mining activity, and a 43-acre restored prairie reveals the unspoiled wilderness found by the first arriving settlers.
