Have a seat in the famous Pendarvis House restaurant and learn about business and life partners Bob Neal and Edgar Hellum and their important preservation work. Make sure to follow the stone pathways to the Kiddlywink pub and 1841 cabin. If your group is up for a hike, hit the trails and see one of the most unique natural settings in the state on the Merry Christmas Mine Hill Trails & Prairie.

HIGHLIGHTS & FEATURES

PENDARVIS HOUSE

Find a seat in the restored famous Pendarvis House restaurant during an hour-long guided tour just for your group. Central to our story, the restaurant was once named as a top seven restaurant in the country by the Saturday Evening Post and featured in Gourmet, Life, and National Geographic magazines.

MINE HILL

Always wonder why Wisconsin is the Badger State? Reserve extra time to for your group to hike the 43 acre Merry Christmas Mine Hill to see remnants of lead and zinc mining, including rare remains of “badger holes.” Stay a few minutes longer to enjoy the beauty of one of the largest restored prairies in southwest Wisconsin.

PENDARVIS HISTORIC PRESERVATION

Explore homes built before Wisconsin became a state on an hour-long guided tour. Learn about our historic limestone cottages through the lives of business and life partners Bob Neal and Edgar Hellum. Their partnership forged a movement and led Mineral Point to become the first city placed on the National Register of Historic Places.

KIDDLYWINK PUB

Make sure to spend time wandering the beautiful gardens and stone pathways before continuing your trip. The rowhouse building is open for your group to self-explore our oldest building, the 1841 Martin Cabin, and stop in to relax for a few moments in our re-created Cornish pub.
