If you've been past Pendarvis recently, you've probably noticed a pretty big difference to our Merry Christmas Mine Hill! Last fall we received an Outdoor Recreation for Tourism grant award from Iowa County. With these funds we have been able to replace our fence at both trail heads and do brush cleanup to clear invasives.

Some of my ancestors lived in the small Pendarvis Bldg.

Please correct me if I don’t have the facts correct.My Grandmother told me it was called shake rag street as women would shake a white dish towel at noon to call the men to the noon meal. We did this on our farm in SW Wisconsin when I was little. In SW the noon meal is called dinner while on the west coast it is called lunch.
